The Wario Land series is a series of video games featuring Mario's rival, Wario, as the main protagonist. The series has a total of six games and has Miiverse communities for the first four games.

Miiverse Communities

The Wario Land series currently has four Virtual Console Communities for the first 4 games in the series.

Super Mario Land 2: 6 Golden Coins

(Systems: Gameboy, 3DS Virtual Console)

Although Super Mario Land 2: 6 Golden Coins is widely considered not to be a Wario game, it should be noted that this was the first game Wario appeared in as the main antagonist. He stole a castle from Mario while he was trying to save Princess Daisy in Super Mario Land, and then Wario took the 6 coins that allowed entrance to the castle, and spread them across the land so Mario would have a hard time getting his castle back. Eventually, Mario gathers the 6 coins needed to gain entrance to his castle and kicks Wario out.

Super Mario Land 3: Wario Land

(Systems: Gameboy, 3DS Virtual Console)

Super Mario Land 3: Wario Land features Wario as the protagonist this time around. After moping about his loss in Super Mario Land 2, he finds out that the Brown Sugar Pirates have stolen a gold statue of Princess Peach. Wario sees this as the perfect opportunity to retrieve the statue and get rewarded well enough to afford a castle of his own. So Wario infiltrates their base, Kitchen Island, to retrieve the statue as well as plunder other treasures he finds along the way. There are multiple endings depending on how many coins you have at the end of the game.

Wario Land II

(Systems: Gameboy, Gameboy Color, 3DS Virtual Console)

After having a castle of his own built, Wario takes a nap while the Brown Sugar Pirates sneak into his castle and wreak havoc as revenge for Wario plundering their treasures. Wario wakes up, quickly gets his castle back in shape, and pursues them. Like Super Mario Land 3: Wario Land, there are multiple endings depending on which path you take. Unlike other Wario Land games however, Wario is invincible and cannot die. Instead, he can take advantage of certain attacks to undergo transformations that allow him to access areas he normally can't. Example: Being crushed will simply flatten Wario and make him descend slowly.

Wario Land 3

(Systems: Gameboy Color, 3DS Virtual Console)

While he was flying his plane one day, it suddenly broke down and crashed into the forest. Wario then entered a small cave and noticed a music box. When he looked into it, he was suddenly shrunk and transported into the world of the music box where he was greeted by a large silhouetted figure. The mysterious figure told him that he used to be the ruler of the music box world, until an evil being sealed him away and turned all the citizens into monsters. If Wario can collect the four music boxes in the world to break his seal, then the figure would be able to restore the music box world, and transport Wario back to his own world along with any treasures he finds. And right when he hears treasure, he's more than willing to help find the music boxes. Like Wario Land II, Wario is invincible and cannot die. The only exception being one of the attacks of the final boss.

Wario Land 4

(Systems: Gameboy Advance, Wii U Virtual Console)

One morning, when he was reading a newspaper article and picking his nose (yes, really), he read that an ancient pyramid had recently been discovered in the jungle. Wario, being the way he is, decided to travel there in hopes of finding treasure. Like Wario Land 1 and II, the game has multiple endings depending on how many treasure chests you've collected during the boss fights (they will disappear if you take too long to defeat the boss). Unfortunately, Wario is no longer invincible like he was in Wario Land II and 3, but he can still undergo transformations from certain enemy attacks (the attacks that cause the transformation will not deal any damage to Wario).
