Squid Kid is a Splatoon related commercial that was released on May 13th. To the annoyance of some, previous Splatoon commercials featured a kid singing about the game's features. In the Squid Kid commercial, a high pitched "squid-like" voice sings repetitive lyrics about the ability to shift between a "kid" and a squid. The song is played over gameplay demonstrating the Inklings transforming into a squid.
The video quickly rose in popularity soon after its release, allowing a cast of comments to criticize the song. Thus, Nintendo decided to disable comments completely from the video.
