Shulk is the main protagonist of the JRPG Xenoblade Chronicles released in 2010, developed by Monolith Soft and published by Nintendo. He has a British accent and is voiced by Adam Howden in the English version of the game. Shulk is 18 years old and is a very smart, kind, and determined person, despite having lost his parents at a young age. He is the heir to the Monado and uses it to destroy all Mechon, which is a goal he set after they invaded his home (Colony 9) and killed many.
Role in Super Smash Bros.
Shulk is a newcomer in Super Smash Bros 4. He was highly requested by fans of the game and was officially revealed to be playable on August 28th, via a trailer during a Japanese Nintendo Direct. Before this however, he was rumored in the Ninca/Vaanrose leaks along with Dark Pit and Duck Hunt Dog, and the Gematsu leak with Chrom and Chorus Kids, who are not playable.
He wields the Monado that can use five arts: speed (makes Shulk move fast), jump (makes Shulk jump higher), shield (makes Shulk take less damage and makes him harder to launch off the stage), buster (makes attacks more powerful), and smash (increases the knockback of attacks, sending opponents flying). His Final Smash is a Chain Attack, where he calls on Riki and Dunban.
- "I'm really feeling it!"
- "This is the Monado's power!"
- "Now it's Shulk time"
- "Dunban, Riki, on my mark!"
- "I'LL KILL YOU!"
