The Great Smash/Zelda War was a massive war between the Smashers and the people in the The Legend of Zelda Series Community. This war is often considered to be the turning point for the Smashers as the war put many people in bans and is often remembered as the biggest war in Miiverse history.
On October 3rd, 2014, problems began when the Super Smash Bros. Series Community was converted into the Super Smash Bros. for 3DS Community. Many Smashers went to the Volleyball Community for a few days until they began migrating to the The Legend of Zelda Series Community. The users who originated in that community grew angry and constantly complained about the Smashers.
Little did the Smashers know that a user named Cold Midna was behind all of this. She encouraged many Zeldians, a term the Smashers made up to define people who spent most of their time making on-topic posts in the The Legend of Zelda Series Community, to form groups and clans to stop the Smashers and make them leave. Nostalgic, another user, found out about this, and informed every Smasher. Eventually, Midna went on to become an opponent to the Smashers.
Many Smashers were outraged about Cold Midna's actions. Midna however, wasn't the only person who falsely reported people. NeoTeamNightStar, another user, was misguided into more reports, until Nostalgic and Dami told the clan that false reporting would only gain them a bad reputation. NeoTeamNightStar agreed to no longer report unless the person is being hostile or false reporting people.
As the Smashers took over the community, a threat from the Zelda fans were constantly being stated. The "People of Hyrule" group was formed from late October to early November. The People of Hyrule wanted to compete against the Smashers, known as the "Meme Team". The group was never successful, as usually many Zeldians wanted to stay off the radar.
Some lone wolves among the Zelda side was Hero, who made constant references to the CoC, and later confirmed to be a false reporter. Sgt. Cloud, a Zeldian, was an infamous user who became a false reporter to ban the Smashers. Mac, a young Zelda fan, threatened to ban two users: Aaron and Raiden, the latter user being the one telling the Smashers to move to the Wii Fit U Community.
In December, a new group broke away from the People of Hyrule. This group is known as the "Requiem of Spirits", who is Count Dooku's sworn enemy. In the beginning, they threatened to report bomb the Smashers. After hearing this, the Smashers finally left the community, and this resulted in the group guarding the Zelda community in case of any more invasions.
In the end, Rosaline, a popular user who is also a Smasher, ordered all of the Smashers to move to the Wii Fit U Community. At first, many Smashers were sure about this, and later agreed to stay there so they won't get false reported.
However, the war hasn't ended there. Many Zelda fans still wanted to get revenge on the Smashers. JJ, a mischievous Zeldian, threatened the Smashers with his "comet" and "small clan". However, it never happened. Cold Midna made a deal to not ban any more Smashers, and she officially said the war has ended. That being said, the war officially ended on January 9th, 2015, after JJ surrendered.
The Smashers and Zelda fans now live in peace. Many Smashers tend to go back to there just to either troll them or being off-topic. However, many Smashers will never feel the same as many users were lost, and many felt scared from the bans that had occurred.
